Now in its sixth year, the Waterlooville Music Festival is a cultural and musical event in East Hampshire, taking place from Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th June 2011.

The festival's focus is on popular classical, but a wide ranging programme is offered which in the past has included heavy rock and folk music, songs from the musicals, through to weighty classical organ pieces.

Line-up

With around 50 concerts all together, taking place throughout the day and evening all week. The line-up is as follows:
The opening Saturday brings hundreds of musicians at numerous locations throughout the town centre with 'Market Place Music', culminating in a 'Dance Party with a dance band and a licensed bar serving real ale.

Sunday offers a chance to join in with a Scratch Choir.
Monday brings Nigel Smith for an Organ Recital, a school concert, and an 'Indian Music Evening' with Timon Singh and visiting guests from London and Oxford.
On Tuesday there is Mumbaba, followed by Rachel Palmer and Ciara O'Connor, another School concert, and in the evening the Hampshire Constabulary Hampshire Police Band.
On the Wednesday it's the turn of Richard Wort with an Organ Recital, a film show - Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, School Concert, and in the evening a fun concert with Portsmouth Cathedral Gentlemen Choristers.
Thursday has two School Concerts, and Nadina Strings and Wind Ensemble present classical hits.
On Friday Ukulele Junction will provide the entertainment at lunchtime, Palm Court offer an afternoon cream tea with Cecil Wilman, and in the evening there's a brass band concert.

The final Saturday features 'Bands on the Lawn' at lunchtime and a 'Last Night of the Proms', all the atmosphere of the real thing with former Royal Marines Bandmaster Don Lloyd and the Meridian Wind Band.
With Trinity Sunday celebrated with a Eucharist celebrating the gift of music.

Daytime concerts are free. Evening concerts £5 in advance, £6 on the door (Last Night of the Proms on Saturday 18th £6 advance tickets only). Passport ticket for all concerts except Last Night of the Proms £25. To buy tickets, click here.
