Started in 1999, Whitehaven Festival will take place from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd June 2012, and this year includes Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The Festival is largely held in the harbour area.

Line-up

Friday - Katherine Jenkins is joined by the National Philharmonic Orchestra along with Anthony Inglis as conductor.
Saturday - The Best of the 1970s with The Three Degree, The Real Thing, Odyssey, Les McKeons Bay City Rollers, Showaddy Waddy, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.
Sunday - The Charlatans and The Enemy.

More acts are still to be announced. The Sugar Tongue will once again be playing host to tall ships, air shows, celebrity chefs, a continental market, a Cumbrian market, street theatre, celebrity guests, a fun fair and 3 concerts (one each night, tickets required for each concert).

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
