Tickets for the 8th Wickerman Festival which happens on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of July 2009 on farmland, near Dundrennan, South West Scotland, have gone on sale today at 2008 prices. The first 500 people who purchase a weekend ticket will be given a free VIP upgrade to the festival.

There is also a new ticket type available for teens, the new half price ticket is for kids aged 13-15 The new 'concession weekend ticket' for those aged 13-15 is priced at £40 available exclusively online until Wednesday 1st July (after which full adult price will apply). An adult weekend ticket (age 16+) is priced at £80. Child weekend tickets are free for those aged 0-12.

An adult (age 13+) Saturday day ticket is available priced at £53, and child (age 0-12) Saturday tickets are free.

Campervan tickets in general live in area, (no tents), is priced at £25, with a family only area option also available, at the same price.

Everyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and bring proof of age - anyone without proof of ID will be liable to pay the full adult ticket price at the gate. We also recommend anyone who looks under 21 to bring ID with them. The ages shown on the tickets refer to the age of the child/concession on the day of the festival (not the age at time of purchase).

The festival also offers a 'Down and Dirty' pass to purchase in advance again this year. These passes allow use of our upgraded 'posh' flushing toilets and hot showers. Priced at £6 for a toilet pass and £6 for a shower pass and both offer unlimited use.

Sited on 120 acres of isolated farmland in deepest Galloway, the festival welcomes families, and features two main stages, as well as dance tents, acoustic and reggae tents, a campsite, trade stalls, alternative area, bars, and food stalls.

As well as a music programme of over 100 acts The Wickerman features such things as a children's area, Dumfries Museum's Activity Tent, a drumming workshop, mountain bike skills workshops with the Forestry Commission, Cosmic Circles Fire Dancers, a funfair for kids, chainsaw juggling, outdoor cinema, children's circus and the climax of the weekend's happening is the torching of a 25 foot high wickerman effigy on Saturday at midnight.
