New acts including The Flaming Lips, who will headline Friday on the Main Stage, have been announced for this year's Rock Ness festival.

The Flaming Lips

Super Furry Animals
The American act head up the latest announcement of eleven new acts, with Welsh group Super Furry Animals, and indie act The Wombats also added to this year's line-up over the weekend of Friday 12th until Sunday 14th June on the banks of Loch Ness, Scotland.

The first wave of dance acts has also been revealed and includes electronica experts David Guetta, Erol Alkan, Pete Tong, Rob Da Bank, DJ Yoda, and Zane Lowe, Crookers, and Brodinski.

Jim King, the festival's director said, "The new additions to this year's line up are all fantastic acts. The Flaming Lips' live performances are always unique and fit right in to the ethos of Rock Ness. It's going to be the first time they have played Scotland for a while and the band are promising to come up with another spectacular show.

The Super Furries are festival favourites of ours and we've been after them for a couple of years so it's really brilliant they are with us this year especially with their new album. Pete Tong, Erol Alkan, Zane Lowe, Robby da Bank and Crookers and not forgetting David Guetta mean that the famous Rock Ness party vibe will continue strongly and that we'll definitely have the biggest party weekend of 2009
."

Other acts confirmed for the banks of Loch Ness include Basement Jaxx, Orbital, and Dizzee Rascal who will play on the Saturday, with Biffy Clyro and The Prodigy playing on the Sunday. Rock Ness has also announced that the main stage will play host to acts on Friday evening for the first time. There will be many more than 100 acts performing.
