Electro-pop supremos Joe Goddard and Felix Martin of Hot Chip lead the dance acts announced to play the Bass Camp Dance Village at South West Scotland's Wickerman Festival in July.
Danny Rampling, will be making two performances in the dance tent, championing new British house music with one, whilst his second becomes a journey through yesteryear's classics.
A weekend of Tech-Funk will be provided by Lot 49 in a massive blackout tent featuring Wickerman favourites such as Meat Katie, Dylan Rhymes, Lee Coombs, Dopamine, Simon Jackson, Elite Force, G-mac, Believe, Silver Storic, and Kid Blue .
Indie disco fans are catered for with Glasgow based Firewater hosting the Urban Skirmish Stage whilst Manchester club-night Funkademia will be spinning soul, funk and disco during the day.
Richard Dyer of Skiddle who co-promotes the Wickerman's Dance area said, "July 2009 will see the appearance of a new look military themed Bass Camp Dance Village that will be open until 5.00am. Electronic music of all genres will be nestled in the one easily accessible area which will feature a couple of tanks, crazy camouflage, big tops and a crystal clear Funktion1 sound system."
The friendly laid-back family orientated festival takes place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of July 2009 on farmland, near Dundrennan, South West Scotland.
The Human League will headline the Friday night, The Zutons close the Saturday night, and Candi Staton plays the Sunday night. Plus Billy Bragg, Idlwild, Dreadzone, Zion Train, Utah Saints, The Dickies, O'Death, Kid British, Pearl and the Puppets, Luva Anna, We Were Promised Jetpacks, UK Subs, Goldblade, Anti Product, No 1 Station, Bombskare, Root System, The Amphetameanies, Berry Tweed and the Chasers,Torrents, More From Jim, The Bum-Clocks, and Penetration. There are many more acts still to be confirmed, expect over 100 acts in total..
An adult weekend ticket (age 16+) is priced at £80. This year sees a new 'concession weekend ticket' for those Age 13-15 which is priced at £40 available exclusively online until Wednesday 1st July (after which full adult price will apply). Child weekend tickets are free for those aged 0-12. An adult (age 13+) Saturday day ticket is available priced at £53, and child (age 0-12) Saturday tickets are free. Campervan tickets iare priced at £25, with a family only area option also available, at the same price.
