Bestival announces more acts

including a dose of Daft Punk!

The nautical themed 10th Bestival which returns to Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight from Thursday 5th until Sunday 8th September 2013 has announced another load of live acts and DJs for this year's bill.

Before you get too excited by the page title it's not the real Daft Punk you're getting, but the excellent band 'Introducing' who perform their own live take on favourite albums. At Bestival, they'll be playing Daft Punk's 'Discovery' and if it reaches the band's normal high standards you'll love it!

Meanwhile, the other live acts announced today are James Blake, Savages, Courtney Pine, Max Romeo, Willy Moon, The 1975, Clean Bandit, London Grammar, The Child Of Lov, Musical Youth, Evian Christ, Parquet Courts, Molotov Jukebox, Moulettes, Filthy Boy, Wheelchair Sports Camp, Ady Suleiman, Hudson Taylor, Champs, Woodpecker Wooliams, Lloyd Yates, Barbarossa, The Keepsakes, Isaiah Dreads, Parlour Flames , Charley Macaulay, and Devilman.

And of course it wouldn't be Bestival without a huge list of DJs too, and newly added to the bill are Numbers: Tweakaholic feat Jackmaster & Spencer, Bicep, Hieroglyphic Being, Addison Groove, Oneman, Psychemagik, Happa, Chris Coco, PBR Streetgang, DJ Scotch Egg, Misty Conditions, Bill Brewster, Copy Paste Soul, Krysko, Applescal, Pete Gooding B2B Danny Whitehead, Pathaan, Johnno, Sunday Best Forum Allstars, Flying White Dots, March Hare, and Gutterslut.

Rob da Bank says: "Bestival is ten years old this year and I always want our festival to stay fresh and new so I’m well pleased with the latest artist additions... Courtney Pine, legendary jazz musician, is going to open the whole birthday spectacular on the Thursday and from that point on we're gonna be treated to a plethora of new bands and talent from new indie upstarts Savages and London Grammar to incredible electronic explorations from Hieroglyphic Being and Evian Christ. Not forgetting returning hero James Blake who’s part of the fabric of recent Bestivals. Hope you enjoy listening to all this lovely lot!"

Headlined by Elton John and Snoop Dogg and a wealth of musical wonders including MIA, Franz Ferdinand, Wu-Tang Clan, The Flaming Lips, Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, The Strypes, Tom Odell, Jagwar Ma,Bastille, any more. As well as the music, Bestival has the world's biggest fancy dress party for 50,000 festival goers. The festival also offers a vibrant mix of cocktail bars, laughter clubs, a farmers market, kids area, dancing, magical moments and more, as one of the most colourful events on the festival calendar.

Tickets for Bestival including entry from Thursday 4th September are priced at £190 for Adult Tickets and £127 for Teen (age 13-17) Tickets. For those arriving on or after Friday 5th September adult tickets are priced at £180. Tickets for children (age 12 & under) are free (but must have a ticket). A campervan ticket is priced at £90 (per vehicle), and car parking is priced at £11 advance (or £15 cash on arrival).
