Cornwall's Boardmasters reveals intricate refund details

Organisers have revealed refund details for those effected by last weekend's Boardmasters' cancellation due to severe weather.

Organisers say it has taken them 72 hours to get  this information announced, because of the complicated tiered ticket system and the fact they offered so many various ticket types. The refund system is an intricate process and so they have published the tables (here) to calculate the amount of refund on offer to all ticket types.

Everyone will be remunerated according to whether they bought an early bird ticket or left it last minute and paid door prices.

A statement from organisers about refunds says,

"Boardmasters has confirmed all ticket holders will be refunded the face value of their Sunday ticket after the event on Sunday 10 August was cancelled because of extreme winds caused by ex-Hurricane Bertha.

As Boardmasters operates a tiered ticketing system, refunds will be remunerated accordingly to the ticket purchased. The value of refunds is listed on the website here: http://www.boardmasters.co.uk/tickets/your-sunday-will-be-refunded/

All card payments made via See Tickets will be refunded automatically within the next 14 days. Cash buyers are to advised to get in touch with See Tickets directly on 01158 960074 from 10am tomorrow, Thursday 14th with their ticket as proof of purchase. Those who purchased from a different ticket agent should contact that agent directly for details of how to arrange their refund. Any Tipi or pre-erected tent ticket holders are to email Boardmasters@seetickets.com

We were blown away (steady on!) by the outpouring of love for our beachside festival. Loads of you have already said you won’t take a refund, which genuinely flawed us at HQ… what a gesture! It really helped cheer us all up when the chips were down. But you all have the right to your money back, so it’s heading straight into your account. No questions asked. We will automatically refund all card bookings (to the card used at point of purchase) within 14 days."

Boardmasters takes place next year over four days from Thursday 6th to Sunday 9th August 2015 at a cliff-top location overlooking Watergate Bay, and Fistral Beach in Cornwall near Newquay and offers action sports including surf, skate, bmx, plus daily live music acts and the music festival.

There are no acts confirmed yet for 2015.
