Festival Republic announce Lollapalooza Berlin

Following on the news that Festival Republic have cancelled their Hove Festival which took place annually in southern Norway, they've unveiled a new event for next year Lollapalooza Berlin.

Germany joins Chile, Brazil and Argentina as an international Lollapalooza location, in addition to the original U.S. Festival in Chicago’s Grant Park.

The event happens at Tempelhof Airport, on the old site of another festival Festival Republic run Berlin Festival which has moved in the calendar to May with the first European edition on Lollapalooza Berlin taking place on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2015.

There are no acts confirmned yet for 2015, and ticket prices have not yet been announced. Lollapalooza founder Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell said, "Berlin's energy, vibrant art, fashion and music scenes are a mirror reflection of what Lollapalooza is all about and I can’t wait to share in this cultural exchange."

Lollapalooza Berlin is expected to have a similar format as the American edition of the festival, with a variety of musical acts, as well as plenty of food, art and opportunities for social engagement.
