The new Summer Days has announced the first wave of acts that will support Simply Red on Wednesday 6th July 2016. Gabrielle, The Christians, and Andrew Roachford will all be appearing on the opening night of the festival happening at Clitheroe Castle in Lancashire which runs on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th July 2016 with more acts supporting Simply Red, the two additional headline acts, and the full bill is still to be announced.
The festivals has also revealed that the consultant and curator of the festival will be Spandau Ballet's Steve Norman. He said, "I've visited the area many times and I just love the Ribble Valley, the scenery is stunning and the people are so friendly. I've also known the organisers for a long time and we've often talked about working together on a festival project in the region.
"Clitheroe Castle is an incredible setting for a music festival and I'm really excited to be part of it. Summer Days Festival is going to be very special indeed.
"The festival will also be a showcase for local bands and artists and there will be an opportunity for them to play. They can apply via the contact page on the website at the beginning of December."
The festival will have two live stages featuring more than 30 artists, a locally sourced gourmet food village and a dedicated real ale area. Simply Red will be the headline act on the opening Wednesday night. Also joining the Summer Days team is chef Nigel Haworth as food ambassador working with local suppliers to select the food on offer at the festival.
Tickets are priced at tickets at £55 per day.
In addition to the Summer Days Festival, The Grand in Clitheroe will be hosting a fringe festival featuring three nights of live music, comedy and entertainment at the renowned venue.
