More acts have been announced for Cheltenham Jazz Festival 2016 running for a 20th year from Wednesday 27th April until Monday 2nd May 2016.
This year's festival will feature performances from Guy Garvey, Jamie Cullum, Lianne La Havas, Beverley Knight, Mulatu Astatke, Courtney Pine, Taj Mahal, David Sanborn, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jazz Jamaica, Ian Shaw, Zoe Rahman, Brand New Heavies, Marcus Strickland, Lizz Wright & Frankfurt Radio Big Band in the UK premiere of their new project performing the songs of Gershwin, a 'live remixed' performance from Soweto Kinch Trio featuring Gregory Hutchinson, Sarah Nicolls, and Kit Downes new project entitled 'Dinner Games', which will see the audience creating the music as they trigger samples whilst sat at a long dinner table in the Parabola Arts Centre, and the world premiere of a Cheltenham Jazz Festival commission from pianist Alexander Hawkins.
The first confirmed acts are Jacob Collier, Meadow, David Sanborn, Jose James, Hiatus Kaiyote, Christian Scott aTundeAdjuah, Tim Berne's Snakeoil, Becca Stevens Band, Julian Arguelles, Giovanni Guidi Trio, Omar Sosa's Quarteto Afro Cubano, and Rom Schaerer Eberle.
This year the festival is hosted in a tented festival village in Cheltenham’s Montpellier Gardens, featuring a Big Top stage, the Jazz Arena, and a food, drink and market area.
Ticket prices will vary depending upon events, and go on sale on Wednesday 2nd March and we'll have links to buy them then.
