The Green Gathering, which promotes and platforms sustainable lifestyles, combining education with entertainment, and will be held from Thursday 1st until Sunday 4th August 2019 returning for its 9th year to Piercefield Park in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, has announced its first acts.
The festival is entirely off-grid; all stages are 100% powered by wind, sun and people. Pioneers in alternative technologies are on hand to teach what they know and a trip to the Greensweep recycling depot is an education in its own right! As well as a place to relax, make friends and listen to music, The Green Gathering is a community and a learning experience that often proves inspirational, even transformational. It's about providing food, energy, health and shelter without degrading the planet. It's about future families, attracting a broad range of people of different ages and backgrounds, with a community atmosphere and peaceful hangouts to balance its lively venues.
Playing over the weekend will be Smiley And The Underclass; She, Robot; Hoopy Frood; The Fabulous Red Diesel; Matthew Frederick; Society of Imaginary Friends; Andy Twyman; Buff; and Captain Starfighter and the Lockheeds. There's more to be announced.
Tickets are on sale, currently priced at £100 for adults, £75 for young adults (16-17), or £55 for youths (11-15). Children aged under 11 years can attend free, anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by a paying adult.
A car pass (in hardstanding carpark) is priced at £25, a motorbike pass is £11, and a live-in vehicle pass is priced from £65 (£85 if oversized), or £75 for a car and caravan. A limited number of dog tickets are available at £80 of which £40 is a returnable good behaviour bond.
