Following last year's cancellation due to severe weather, the first line-up announcement has been made for 5-day surf and music Boardmasters festival returns for its 40th year from Wednesday 5th to Sunday 9th August 2020 at a cliff-top location overlooking Watergate Bay, and Fistral Beach in Cornwall.
Heading the Friday names is Skepta, who is joined by The Kooks, Mura Masa, DJ Ez, Little Simz, Ocean Wisdom, Honey Dijon, Jeremy Loops, Hannah Wants, Jade Bim, Sports Team, Folamour, Prospa, Haai, Flava D, Miraa May, Conducta, Dan Shake, Jessica Winter, Caravana Sun, Tender Central, Aaron Smith, Ed Solo & Deekline, Tora, Dixon Mothers, Mollie Collins, Sean Koch, Andy Quick Band, Cakeboy, Penny Eyes, Lucy Gallant, and Sadie Horler.
On Saturday there's Kings of Leon, with Dizzee Rascal, Sam Fender, Camelphat, Lianne La Havas, Basement Jaxx (DJ set), Example, Palace, Elderbrook, Gabrielle Aplin, Allah-Las, The Four Owls, Krystal Klear, Gengahr, Hollow Coves, Bad Sounds, DJ Hype, CC:Disco!, Feet, TC, AC13, Illyus & Barrientos, Harriet Jaxxon, Riley Pearce, Alex the Astronaut, The Big Sets, The Barefoot Bandit, Sam Richardson and The Renegades, Zeb, O'deus, Andrew Cushin, and Bailey Tomlinson.
Sunday has The 1975, as well as Loyle Carner, Damian Marley, Andy C, Mabel, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Pale Waves, Hybrid Minds Outline, Crucast, Ghetts, The Big Moon, Palms Trax, Artwork, Beabadoobee, Gentleman's Dub Club, Trevor Hall, Jayda G, Chaos in the CBD, Eva Lazarus, Sherelle, Lily Moore, Phibes, JOHN, Bambara, Casey Lowry, Tay Oskee, Joe & The Shitboys, Finlay, DJ Proof, Hearing Aid Beige, and Yazzy.
Beyond the music, Boardmasters will return with its epic surf competition, part of the World Surf League Qualifying Series as the biggest names on the international surf scene battle it out on the waves at Fistral Beach. More details to be revealed in 2020. The festivals dedicated wellbeing area, Zennor Haven will be the perfect place to unwind and relax, with yoga, mental health workshops, healthy food offerings, meditation and much more. The UK’s largest Silent Disco will make a hotly-anticipated return on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 August as scores of festivalgoers kick-start 2020 proceedings at the Watergate Bay Main Stage.
