Brighton Live is a celebration of live music, bringing together live music venues, promoters, labels, record shops, bands and the music industry to showcase live music of all genres for one week and all for FREE.

Now five years old, the festival is spreading physically, with mini festivals launched in Hanover, and Hove. Venues range from clubs and pubs and cafés, to shops, and even the Brighton Library. Music is eclectic and includes classical performances, and world music, as well as ska, indie, rock and acoustic. The festival is age-encompassing too, including gigs suitable for under 18s, plus sessions and seminars.

There will be more outdoor events and shows in some interesting and unusual spaces. Following last year’s lead where we saw a 20+ strong modern classical choir perform in the library, the festival will be using another monumental landmark building in Brighton (more details to come). Last year’s new genre was modern classical, this year they will be introducing electronic and new technology.

Brighton Live 2007 will also be introducing live Jazz to this year's event. As well as at Brighton's flagship Jazz venue The Sussex Arts Club, performances will be taking place at venues across Brighton featuring some of the cities most exciting and innovative jazz musicians.

The full line-up will be announced on the 1st of September.

More information will be posted here nearer the time.
