A nicely-organized & comfortable event with many helpful and enjoyable add-ons. The 13th Cornbury festival takes place again over three days from Friday 8th until Sunday 10th July 2016, with the campsite opening on Thursday and closing on Monday.

The festival is held on The Great Tew Estate, Chipping Norton, in Oxfordshire and offers a family-friendly line-up, Cornbury Music Festival mixes a few typical-festival acts with some new ones.

Line-up

Latest additions Beverley Knight, Stella Parton, Kerri Watt, and Pierce Brothers.

Bryan Ferry tops the bill Saturday, and Seal has the headline slot on Sunday. Also confirmed are Murray Lachlan Young, All Saints, Corinne Bailey Rae, Booker T. Jones, Bjorn Again, Gabrielle Aplin, Lucinda Williams, Ramin Karimloo, James Morrison, Newton Faulkner, The Zombies, The Shires, Tunde Baiyewu the voice of The Lighthouse Family, Turin Brakes, Red Sky July, Cattle & Cane, and The Dunwells.

Jamie Cullum, Soul II Soul, Lemar, Wilko Johnson, The Beat, Port Isla, and The Lottery Winners were the first acts announced, appearing on Friday. This is the first year Cornbury features a full day Friday line-up, with the arena opening at 9am and artists performing from 11am.

In addition to the music, expect the festival to offer a variety of attractions including a fairground, many morris dance pageants, children's theatre workshops, theatre workshops, arts and crafts, speciality shops, novelty acts and upmarket catering offering everything from champagne and cappuccinos to real ale.

New this year is the Mayflower Project Teen Tent, a comfortable and safe setting where young festival goers can take part in workshops to learn new skills or just hang out with friends. The Teen Tent, with its comfy sofas has activities to distract them if they are bored but also gives them the freedom to do as much or as little as they wish.

The early bird offer has ended. Tickets are priced as follows:
Adult Weekend: £170 / with camping £200
Young Person’s Weekend (aged 13-16): £85 / with camping £115
Child Weekend (aged 3-12): £30 /with camping £35
Over 70s Weekend: £85 / with camping £115
Campervan permit: £95

Friday early bird tickets are priced at £79 for an adult, £10 for a child.

Getting there

For those not planning to drive to Great Tew, there will be subsidised bus services leaving from Banbury and Charlbury stations meeting trains from the north and south of the country.
