The 7th annual Flying Pig Festival will be taking place later in the year on Friday 12th until Sunday 14th September 2014. The small family friendly charity festival takes place on Sandhill Farm airfield near Shrivenham in Oxfordshire, about 5 miles East of Swindon.
The site is an active gliding club, The Vale of White Horse Gliding Centre. Weather permitting gliding takes place during the festival and it is possible for festival attendees to book trial gliding lessons at a considerable discount. Organisers also expect to have a sky diving demonstration during the festival from Skydive London based nearby at Redlands airfield. Plus vintage cars and vintage aircraft on display.
Line-up
Friday: (from 5pm) The Wirebirds ft. Jenny Haan, Mick O'Toole, Beneath The Reef, The Hurricanes, Jenny Bracey, Matt Edwards Music, Charlie-Anne.
Saturday: (from noon) Nudy Bronque, The Intercepteurs, Crowd Company, Gregg Larkin, Glenda Huish, The Baker Boys, King Canute, The Racket, All Ears Avow, SkyBurnsRed, NewQuay Times, Burnthru.

In previous years the event has only been held on the Saturday with camping encouraged so that people don't have to travel home after the event. Last year the Flying Pig expanded to two days and this year it will be three, and again camping is encouraged.
Last year there were around 22 local bands playing. With the additional day expect rather more bands on two stages this year.

The family friendly live music festival is a chrity event and has raised just over £1,100 for charity. Those benefitting are the Viscountess Barrington’s Trust Memorial Hall fund, Freya Beya, the Alzheimer’s Society and the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
None of the organisers or performers are paid. The object is more to have a good time than to make a lot of money.
