Folkfest 2006

An acoustic folk festival, with free activities in pubs around the town centre all day Saturday, including plans for a daytime family/children's Ceilidh in the grounds of the Lighthouse Pub, plus an open air concert on Sunday, from noon until 5pm, in Manor Gardens with a bar, refreshments and childrens entertainment.

Music in each pub will be split into three hour slots, with at least one Open Mic Session, a Club Slot (provided by local acoustic clubs), and a well known named act or two.

There will be a Festival Ceilidh on Saturday night with Gypsy Kiss, at the Princess Hall. (This is a charged event and ticket prices will be announced shortly.)

Throughout the weekend there will arts and crafts exhibitions at the Community Centre (near Manor Gardens), plus street entertainers and buskers along the seafront and in the High Street.

Although this is basically a free festival, a 'roving ticket' is planned, to allow families to take advantage of creche and children's entertainment facilities dotted around the town.
