Hull Folk and Maritime Festival celebrates folk culture, its traditional values and varied styles, with a three day event from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th July 2016 covering Hull Marina, Victoria Pier, Humber Street and the Old Fruit Market areas.
Line-up
Friday: The Wilson Family, Spare Hands, Hillbilly Troupe, Shiznitz, MG Greaves and The Lonesone Two, Quite By Chance, Na-Mara.
Saturday: The Smugglers, The Ant Farm Collective, Phil Cockerham & Dickie Dixon, Beggar's Bridge, Chris Sherburn and Denny Bartley, Joe Strouzer, Granny's Attic, Jon Palmer Acoustic Band, Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar, Celtarabia, Andy Buckton, Alan McClure, Keith Newby's Progcoustica, Pete McLeod, Paula Ryan, Treven O'Neil, Tim Moon, Jody McKenna, String Theory, HarriWatts Band, Bud Sugar, Jim Eldon, Barry Cundill, Dicky Deegan, Jim Radford, Paul & Liz Davenport, Brian Nelson, Monkey's Fist, Lola Waslin’s Rainbow People, Urban Rain, Farino, Crooked Weather, Dyr Sister , The Mighty and The Moon, Pilar Lopez Presents 'Libres', Revolutionary songs and poetry from Rick Gammon and Moonhead Dobbs QC, The Spanish Cockpit and 8 Men from Hull, Folk dancing at various locations. Teams appearing at the festival are Acorn Morris, Alford Morris, Beverley Garland Dancers, Bishops Morris, Clogaire, Makara Morris, Rackaback, Raving Maes, Scarborough White Rose Garland, The Herring Gals, The Minster Strays, and Wharfedale Wayzgoose.
Sunday: Merlin's Keep, Eddy O'Dwyer, Fuzzy Jones, The Nick Rooke Band, The Boat Band, The Most Ugly Child, The Cod Ends, Monkeys Fist, The Roaring Forties, Sam Martyn, Shanty Jack, Spare Hands, Amanda Lowe's Amy Johnson Song Cycle, Cathy and Dez Allenby , Work In Progress, Loudhailer Electric Company, Ricochet, Haise Waits, Johnny Campbell, Carrie Martin, Jack Conman, Happy Endings.

With it's centuries-old waterfront location and its sea-going heritage, the UK's City of Culture for 2017 provides the perfect setting for a unique event which resonates with the traditions and individual character which is embodied here. Over 70 acts will be performing mostly free of charge at a variety of venues; there will singaround and tunes sessions in local pubs, and dance team displays, while several historic vessels will be moored up in the Marina, providing public access and hosting performances. Running alongside the event will be a real ale festival, with over 60 top quality beers to choose from.
