This free outdoor festival celebrates Asian arts and culture with a wealth of music and entertainment. There will be pop and classical music, dance, street theatre, and activities for children.

Open from noon until around 9pm, there are around 8 tents presenting everything from big name Bollywood stars and cabaret to top Asian arts and sports, including the Urban Flavas stage, run in conjunction with Bobby Friction and Nihal from Radio 1. This year, after a year-long competition on Radio 1, there are loads of new DJs and musicians:
Dum Dum Project; Swami and Desi Rock; Juggy D; Envy Soundclash; Catch 22 featuring Deadly Hunter Prash and many more.

Mela is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘to meet’, used to describe all sorts of community celebrations and festivals in the Asian subcontinent. A long-standing tradition in South Asia, the Mela strengthens communities by bringing people together in a festival atmosphere where everyone can enjoy food, music and dance.
