The Festival on the Moor will be held in the village of Osmotherley, North Yorkshire where there will be a full programme of Folk Music & Dance Events throughout the weekend from Friday 29th until Sunday 31st August 2008 and venues will be The Village Hall, The Queen Catherine Inn, and the Golden Lion Inn.
The line-up so far includes The Accordance Ceilidh Band, Gordon Tyrell, String Theory, Gordon Tyrall, Richard Grainger & Chris Parkinson, Jane Williamson, Steve Dawes & Helen Pitt, Wendy Arrowsmith, David Swann, Mawkin, Lucy Ward, Blind Summat, Barbara Helen, A-Drift, Joyce & Danny Mcleod and more.

The event will start with a welcome concert at Osmotherley Village Hall on Friday 29th August. This will feature Richard Grainger & Chris Parkinson. the festival will also offer workshops, singarounds, musicians sessions, concerts, and on Saturday night a Ceilidh. Plus a Local Producers Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday as well as face-painting, storytelling and family fun.
There are two pubs taking part in the event - The Queen Catherine and The Golden Lion both sell food and real ales.
This is a non-camping event, however there is a nearby caravan site, and various accommodation options including local b&b's and a YHA five minutes walk from the North Yorkshire village. The local campsite is at Cote Ghyll only a 5 min walk from the village.
