Pitch Invasion 2012

The fifth annual Pitch Invasion is a family-friendly FREE Music Festival, moves to a brand new venue, and will now be located at Hartlepool United's 8,000-seater stadium in Victoria Park on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2012 from 12pm to 9pm (Stage times 2pm – 9pm).

The event is is run to support and show off the local talent in the North East. Over 50 bands will take to two stages over the weekend, expect special guests and a couple of tribute acts with pop, rock, indie, scream, metal…, rap and drum’'n’'bass all catered for. The new site includes a 2nd PBL audio stage in a 1,000 person marquee.

Line-up

Tribute bands Kings Of Lyon and Howaysis will finish the main stage on each day, with support from Missing Andy, General Fiasco, The Jar Family, Mercedes and The White Negroes.

The PBL Audio Marquee Stage line-up includes Shadows Chasing Ghosts, Scholars, The Feud, Lost State of Dance, Hattie Murdoch, Lennox, Rossi Noise, The Hype Theory, and Cinemawave.

Other acts over the weekend include Antlez, All&I, Black Magic, Boundaries, Broke The Stereo, Coalition, Curious Kontrol, Casey Smith, Danny's House, Evolution, Feedback, Fallen Edge, Chloe Gibson & Daniel Drinkwater, Hand of Aces, Ivory Tide, Kate Williams, Keep Going Captain, Let's Pretend, Moonlight Valentino, Moonrunners, Neon Sheep, One Shot Progress, Palace, Peppermints, Rough Diamond, Sailors and Saints, Sam Barras, The Bass Thieves, The Bluebuds, The James Arthur Band, The Passion Killers, Whalter, and The Red Dreams Houseband will be showcasing some of the young singers including Lewis Murphy, Beth Lowery, Michael Rice, Nick Dixon, and Rick Kitson.

Tickets

A family ticket (for 2 adults & 2 Children) is priced at £12 for the weekend. An adult weekend ticket is priced at £5. weekend tickets for children (aged over 5 & under 16) are priced at £3. Day tickets (sold on the gate daily) for adults are priced at £3, and £2 for children. Children aged under 5 can attend for free, but must be accompanied by an adult. To buy tickets, click here.

Family friendly

As Pitch Invasion is a Family Fun Event, there will be stalls, face painting, T-shirt making, games, inflatables, fun fair rides and loads of stuff going on, including the foot-long battered sausage eating competition. 4 fully licensed bars with special prices for festival goers, and many food vendors.

Charity

The event will be raising money for good causes.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
