The Rivenstone Festival of Sacred World Music on Dartmoor takes place from Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September 2010 from midday to midnight, and is hosted by musicians Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer.

This year's event combines one day of vibrant and energised performances plus talks that highlight campagning issues, with a day of music, shared song and artistic contributions inspired by the deep dream of the land.

Line-up

The Exile Project, Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer, Seize the Day, Le Baobab, Julie Felix, Sun Groove Messengers, Brian Boothby, Dragonsfly, Emily Burridge, Pat Orchard, Carolyn Hillyer and musicians Maya Preece and Tegwyn Hyndman, Nigel Shaw and guest musicians. Renowned fire performer Carol Assuray and her team will present a fire dance to close the weekend.

Tickets

Adult weekend ticket (2 days) is priced at £75. Single Day ticket (Saturday / Sunday): £40. Children (7-15): £40 / £20. Children under 7 years are free. To buy tickets, click here.

Workshops

Free communal craft workshops throughout the weekend to create beautiful totems in wood, stone and wool that will be installed here on the land. Led by Yuli Somme, Freddie Foosiya Miller and Sean Hellman.

Dream The Land Creative Forum
A beautiful wild river of words woven by renowned Dartmoor artists and writers describing how the spirit of the landscape has informed their work.

Facilities

The Trading Tent features art, music and crafts inspired by nature and the wild land. An onsite Cafe will provide a full range of delicious organic, vegetarian and fairtrade food for brunch, lunch, dinner or snacks. Local ales, Dartmoor cider and organic wine available throughout the day from the bar (all profits to the campaigning charity). Shrines and hidden magical spaces may be found all around 24 acres of woods, marshes and meadows. The ceremonial Roundhouse will be open throughout the weekend. Water comes from their own wells and comfortable earth-friendly compost toilets on site.

On site

Expect organic and vegetarian food, locally brewed ales, organic wines in a candlelit grove, trading tent stalls including music, instruments and tribal craft products.

Accommodation

Camping is available at neighbouring Runnage Farm (5 mins walk) (book directly with them on 01822 880222). Indoor accommodation is also available at Runnage Granary Barn (cabin rooms for groups of 6), contact as above, with hostels and B&Bs also available in the area.
