Whitby Sea Festival is based at The Met on West Cliff ( formerly The Metropole Hotel) where most of the concerts and sessions will take place. Additional events are also planned at The Whitby Museum in Pannett Park over the weekend of Friday 8th until Sunday 10th July 2016.
Line-up
More than 30 Shanty Groups, Folk Musicians, Singers and Poets including Bill Adair, Boathook Bald, Crossjack (DE), Monkeys Fist, Richard Grainger, Hughie Jones, David Kidman, Chris Milner, People From The Past, Steve Dawes & Helen Pitt, Colin Pitts, Ramshackle Shantymen, 'Sirocco', Men Of Staithes, Stormcrow,Peter Taylor, Steve Turner, John Ward Band - Devils Water, Whitby Music Centre, Xonique, Corsaires de la Vedre, and Just a Word (Or Two).
Tickets
Tickets are priced at £28 for an all weekend ticket.
Other activities
There'll be performances by Shantymen, local singers, poets throughout the weekend. The maritime festival also has plenty of family and children's entertainment, including face painting, concerts, Song Sessions, Song Competition, a Pirate Party, and more.
Accommodation
This event does offer weekend camping (Friday and Saturday) at a price of £10 for adults, and £5 for children (aged 6 to 16 years), and there are also a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
