South Park Gardens Music Festival 2012

The fourth South Park Gardens Music Festival is a free event taking place in South Park Gardens, Wimbledon, South West London on Saturday, 7th July, 2012.

Line-up

The Bench Class, Ryan and Rhys, Scarlett, B.A.D., The Mandrills, Final Rumour, Jack and Asher, Smoke, Roxxi, My Obsession, Extra Terrestrial and MC Abolish, 4 Bars of Sheila, Saphire Davis, Elm Grove, Rihannon Roy, Pixelated, Fuze, My Obsession, and Merton Youth Concert Band.

Performers at the festival will be made up entirely of young people: bands, singers, rappers all under the age of 22, who live in Wimbledon, or have a strong connection with the area.

Organisers Mandy Mallen and Julian Butler wanted to put on a festival for young bands, singers, rappers and musicians who were too young to get out and play on the regular pub/club circuit, and have put the festival together with the help of the Friends of South Park Gardens.

The performers are all local to the Merton area, and the line-up has not yet been announced.

Xfm DJ John Kennedy, known for his passion for young bands, will be compering the event.

On site

There will be lots of other exciting things going on as well - expect storytelling and face painting for younger visitors, percussion workshops, there will be food and soft drinks for sale.
