Volt is a multicultural festival happening for a 22nd edition in the middle of a forest from Wednesday 2nd until Saturday 6th July 2014 with 15 stages and approximately 200 performances over a wide variety of musical styles: rock, pop, jazz, hip-hop, electro, world music, as well as DJs, and theatre shows.

Nearly 100,000 visitors descend on Sopron, the town hosting Volt which lies on the Austrian-Hungarian border, 60 km from Vienna, 200 km from Budapest, 90 km from Bratislava.

The latest acts Foals, Icona Pop, Steve Aoki, Woodkid, Morcheeba, I am Legion, Sunrise Avenue and Noisia will also perform next to already announced acts like MGMT, Bring Me The Horizon and Volbeat.

A 4-days festival passes priced at 90 euros, and a day ticket is 33 euros.

Camping information

Gates open at 2pm on Thursday. You can look around and settle into the camping area and take part in a 'socialising' event and sleep in your own tent or wooden bungalow.

There are three places (mobile container units) on the campsite for showering where men and women bathe separately. There are also bio toilets (mobile toilets) and container toilets on the site, which are regularly cleaned and checked.

Getting there

Sopron is 210 km from Budapest, so you can be at the VOLT Festival in about 2.5 hours from the capital which has good European rail, road, and air links. There are frequent trains leaving from Budapest's Keleti Pályaudvar (Keleti Railway Station) and Déli Pályaudvar (Déli Railway Station) to Sopron, with dedicated trains running to the festival between Budapest and Sopron.
