Festival of World Cultures

last updated: Wed 17th Feb 2016

The picturesque coastal town of Dun Laoghaire, Ireland is transformed over 3 days, for a kaleidoscopic gathering of artists, from over 50 countries worldwide, with 160 events taking place in 40 venues, and a programme that's about 70% free to the public.

The seafront road is closed to create a safe and festive atmosphere for buskers, acrobats, puppet shows, musicians and dancers. There are several stages including the World Dance Plaza in the People's Park and the Main Stage in Newtownsmith plus a wide variety of other venues including pubs, clubs and theatres.

There's also a Global Village and Craft Fair, workshops, National Costume parade and a variety of other family-orientated events.

The event was last held in 2010.
