With a strong environmental agenda The Outsider is a festival for people who care about the world and want to participate rather than just consume. There are opportunities to go hiking, strolling, running, gorge-walking, river rafting, mountain climbing, nature watching, stargazing and much more.
Pete Irvine, Director of Unique Events, said, "As we all know, were living in difficult times so it's great that we've been able to bring the Outsider back; a festival which celebrates not just the outdoor life but life itself. We're delighted to be able to present a festival programme with all the boutique style and atmosphere we had before, showcasing not only the very best in Scottish entertainment and outdoor activities, but delivering a diverse range of entertainment not seen at any other festival in the UK. A family of four can come to the Outsider, camping for the weekend, for less than the price of a single ticket at many music festivals. We are privileged to be able to set up our camp in beautiful Rothiemurchus. We feel that we have a festival that's truly of its time and place."
Early bird tickets are available until Monday 13th April, priced at £50 for the whole weekend, or £30 for Saturday or Sunday. Children's tickets (age 5-12) are priced at £10 for the day and £15 for the weekend. Camping tickets are priced at £65 for adults or £25 children, campervan passes are £10, and car parking passes £5.

We're delighted to be supporting the festival's unique Forum programme highlighting and celebrating Scotland's leading role in environmental innovation and development. 2009 is an important year for Scotland when we look forward to welcoming home many of the millions of people around the world who have an ancestral link or strong affinity with our country. There is an excellent programme of Homecoming activity taking place across the Highlands throughout 2009 that will provide a draw for Highlanders around the globe."
