Teenage Fanclub have been announced as the Sunday headlining act at The Outsider festival.

The Glasgow based band, who Liam Gallagher famously described as "the second best band in the world", will be headlining the main stage on Sunday 28th June. Ray McGinley of Teenage Fanclub said, "We're playing The Outsider because it's like some of the festivals we play in Scandinavia and other parts of Europe where it's a great place to be anyway and the music is the icing on the cake. We've just finished out new record and this is us emerging into real life again. We don't know if it will be out in time for the festival, but we'll definitely be playing some new songs as well as things you've heard before. It's great that a thing like this is happening in Scotland."

Also revealed today are the first names for this year's comedy bill which include Fred Macaulay, Miles Jupp, Shazia Mirza, Kevin Bridges, and Aaron Counter.

The Outsider festival takes place in the beautiful landscape of Cairngorm National Park in the shadow of the Cairngorm Mountains on Rothiemurchus Estate, Scotland on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June 2009.

In addition to the music programme, expect outdoor activities, music, conversation, classic film, comedy and cabaret as well as cool stuff for kids all under canvas in three tents.

With a strong environmental agenda The Outsider is a festival for people who care about the world and want to participate rather than just consume. There are opportunities to go hiking, strolling, running, gorge-walking, river rafting, mountain climbing, nature watching, stargazing and much more.

Early bird tickets are available until Monday 13th April, priced at £50 for the whole weekend, or £30 for Saturday or Sunday. Children's tickets (age 5-12) are priced at £10 for the day and £15 for the weekend. Camping tickets are priced at £65 for adults or £25 children, campervan passes are £10, and car parking passes £5.
