The Strokes, 2manydjs, and Friendly Fires, are the first acts to be announced for next summer's Rock Ness festival held at the edge of Loch Ness, Scotland on Friday 11th to Sunday 13th June 2010.

The Strokes
The Strokes will headline the headline the Highland music festival returning from a four year hiatus.

Also confirmed are 2manydjs who are lined up as the official house band of this year's festival in a new production that is yet to be unveiled. The duo are confirmed as hosting 2manydjs live in their own arena on the Saturday and performing live as Soulwax on the Sunday.

Rounding up the first announcement is electro popsters Friendly Fires who will be appearing at rock ness for the first time.

Rock Ness has also today announced BBC Radio 1 as the official radio partner to the festival. The station's DJs including Annie Mac, and Rob da Bank are set to head north with the latter two each hosting their own unique arenas.

In a Scottish festival exclusive, the spectacular Arcadia arena will make its Rock Ness debut. This world class audio and visual feast, orchestrated by the Arcadia collective of artists, technicians and engineers, offers spectacular night time shows on the Afterburner Mk2 set. Expect post-apocalyptic pyrotechnics, dramatic podiums extending into the crowd, multi rave areas and fire performance displays alongside DJs including Rob da Bank.

Jim King, Festival Director said, "We're definitely going to have our best ever line up this year with some of the strongest new acts to be announced over the coming months. We're also targeting acts that have been hugely influential over the last decade and none come bigger than The Strokes."

"We're also really excited about 2manydjs playing live and they have some extra special production announcements to make in the New Year. There's a lot still to be unveiled and I'm actually as excited about Arcadia's Afterburner coming to Rock Ness as I am about some of the acts. When I saw it at Glastonbury I thought it was the most amazing installation I'd ever seen at a festival. It's going to blow people's minds. We all think 2010 is going to be a really great year at Rock Ness."

Ticket buyers can make a down payment of £20 plus a booking fee and will then have 6 months to pay the balance which will happen in one transaction with the same ticket agent. A limited number of tickets at Early Bird prices are also available at a price of £100. 1 day, 2 day or 3 day tickets will be available at a later date.
