Tickets go on sale from 9am today, Friday 30th of October, for the 4th annual Apollo Festival taking place in York on Saturday 25th June 2016 in the grounds of York Sport's Club, Clifton Park, on Shipton Road.

Organisers say, "2016 will see Apollo Festival return even bigger and better. Music acts are under wraps for now; however, it has been confirmed that the theme for 2016 is ‘Carnival’ and the option to bring food into the venue will be available.

"Taking on board feedback from the event this year, allowing the crowd the opportunity to bring their own food into the festival will only support the ethos of a ‘family friendly’ festival. Combined with this, high-quality food outlets from a range of cuisines will be gracing the arena once again.

"Those who do purchase the Early Bird Tickets will receive additional privileges. These will be revealed in January 2016."

Early bird tickets are priced at £15 per adult (+ booking fee), a teen (aged 13-17 years) ticket is price at £8.80, a child (aged 4-12 years) ticket is price at £5.50, children aged 0-3 years are free.

There are no acts confirmed yet for the festival's five stages.

Festival goers will be able to enjoy four stages of music, plus a large number of stalls, attractions and caterers provided by some of York's favourite local businesses plus a full fairground, and a whole day of children's activities with open Air theatres free Kids zone and the annual hay bale fight.

The theme for the festival, which this year saw a 4,000 strong crowd attend, is 'Carnival'.

This year's kids section entertainment will include include Roman and Viking villages, donkey rides, facepainting and 'welly wanging'.

Organisers hope to raise as much as possible for charities.
