Durham International Brass Festival will celebrate brass music from around the world, from Boban Marcovic's Balkan sounds of Eastern Europe, to New Orleans influenced sounds of the Young Blood Brass Band of the USA.

Brass is everywhere and is used in all kinds of music - DIBF features performances of R'n'B, funk, soul, Balkan gypsy, traditional brass bands, classical and more.

Some of the programme is planned as follows:
Monday 2nd July, Gala Theatre, Durham: BELLOWHEAD(UK) - £16/£12.
Thursday 5th July, Gala Theatre, Durham: THE BRAZZ BROTHERS (Norway) with support from the Baghdaddies, Les Barbecues, and the Brassketeers - £15/£11.
Friday, 6th July, Gala Theatre, Durham: YOUNG BLOOD BRASS BAND (USA) with support from Orkestra Del Sol and Les Barbecues - £10/£8.
Saturday 7th July, Gala Theatre, Durham: MNOZIL BRASS (Austria) - £18/£12.50.
Thursday 12th July, Fonteyn Ballroom, Durham University Union: DENNIS ROLLINS & BADBONE(UK)- £12.50/£10.
Friday, 13th July, County Hall, Durham: THE BOBAN MARKOVIC ORKESTAR (Balkans)- free.

Other events include: The Durham Miners' Gala; Acid Brass (the Williams Fairey Brass Band); The Teesdale Brass Band Contest and The Durham County Brass Band Association (DCBBA) Entertainment Contest and several other gigs in between by the Baghdaddies.

Performances will be held at different venues across the city and county. Costs will vary for each performance - many activities are free.
