Fuse Medway Festival is a FREE event. The weekend celebration of arts and creativity will take place from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June 2011.
This year's event promises to bring even more colourful sights and sounds to Medways open spaces, from vibrant street theatre to world-class dance and circus acts.
Fuse Medway Festival will be a free celebration of arts that is different, diverse and daring. They aim to showcase some of the best emerging and established performers from across Medway and Europe. They are also working with hundreds of local residents from many community groups.
Line-up
The programme for 2011 is as follows:Grayscale World installation, Monday, 13 to Thursday, 16 June, High Street, Rochester. Presented by Moogie Wonderland, Medway's architecture, industrial sites and public areas are transformed using varying symphonies of grey.
Alice - Wednesday, 15 June, 4pm, Hillyfields Community Park, Gillingham and Thursday, 16 June, 4pm, Riverside Country Park, Rainham Presented by students from Central School of Speech & Drama.
Sparky Initiative, Monday, 13 June, 10am - 12noon, High Street, Chatham; Tuesday, 14 June, 10am - 12noon, High Street, Gillingham; Thursday, 16 June, 10am - 12noon, High Street, Rochester. Presented by Kinetika.
Smile Wednesday, 15 June, 12noon - 2pm, Chatham High Street; Wednesday, 15 June, 12noon - 2pm, 2.30pm - 4pm, Rochester High Street. Presented by Big Bubble.
Friday 17 June, Gillingham - Illumination Parade - Friday 17 June, from 4.30pm, Gillingham High Street, Kent. Life size illuminated silver puppets, Sparky Champion and Magma Eternal will lead a celebration parade along Gillingham High Street.
Saturday 18 June, Chatham Street Arts Day Alice - 2.30pm, Town Hall Gardens. Presented by students from Central School of Speech & Drama.
The Floor Crusaders, 12noon to 5pm, High Street, Winners of the south-west Bboy championships.
The North Wind and the Sun, 12noon to 5pm, High Street, A Woking Dance Festival Commission, inspired by Aesop's Fable, a hip hop dance tale.
Promenade Dance to the Riverside, presented by Loop Dance Company, 12noon to 5pm, High Street guided by Loop Youth Dance Company performers and accompanied by a live musician.
The Weirdy Beardies 12noon to 5pm, High Street.
Time For Tea, 12noon to 5pm, High Street, Wet Picnic's tea ladies sweep through the streets.
