Seafest International Maritime Festival is a free festival, celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, and taking place from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th July in Scarborough with events taking place at the West Pier Stage and various harbour-side venues.
The event includes concerts, a Singaround, and over 25 acts in over 200 performances over the three days.
The line-up so far includes Richard Grainger, and Chris Parkinson who will open the festival programme with The Endeavour Shantymen. Other acts include Les Pirates, Adrian O, Armstrongs Patent, Wendy Arrowsmith, Dick Mles, Captain Bullock (Bell & Bullock), Bernard Davies, Steve Dawes & Helen Pitt, Finn & Haddie (USA), Flossie, Hughie Jones, Keith Kendrick and Sylvia Needham, There Be Pirates (USA), Tom Hughes, Monkeys Fist, The Scarborough Poets, Andrew McKay & Carole Etherton, The Filey Fishermen's Harmony Group, Stormalong John, Penni Maclaren Walker, and local poets from The Scarborough Poetry Workshop and many more international and local performers. Richard Graingers play The Moorland Whalers will be performed on Sunday 26th July. Produced by Diana Logan of Stephen Joseph Theatre. Seafest's Song Competition ' A Song for the Sea' takes place on Saturday 24th July at Sea Cadets Hall.
The maritime festival also has plenty of family and children's entertainment, including face painting and more.
