Small Is Festival is an annual sustainability festival from Royal Leamington Spa's International development and technology charities Practical Action and Engineers without Borders.
The not-for-profit mini festival of ideas, music and debate takes place in Bourton Hall, near Royal Leamington Spa, inWiltshire from Friday 31st August until Sunday 2nd September 2012.
Line-up
From 5pm until midnight each night, the Acoustic Tent and Music Stage will resound with barnstorming, gypsy and soulful song from the likes of Fitty Gomash, X.O.V.A, The Navigantes, The Stride, Kidnap Alice, The Triangulators, Me and My Friends, Sam Lindo, and X.O.V.A.
Talks and events
The festival also promises big debates in the Small Talk Tent, wholesome food, scrumptious scrumpy, late-night jam sessions, cookery classes, massage, and more. Speakers include Polly Higgins, Tony Juniper, Molly Conisbee, Wendy Stephenson, and Tim 'Mac' Macartney.
Tickets
The early bird offer has ended. Weekend tickets with camping are priced at £45, with a concession weekend ticket for those including young people (aged 8-18), students, OAPs (over 70) and those on benefits are priced at £35. Children aged under 8 can attend for free. Day tickets are also available priced at £15 or £10 for concessions. To buy tickets, click here.
The festival is expected to attract more than fifteen hundred experts, activists, students and families from local towns and across the world to create, learn, dance and discuss this year's theme 'Power To The People', covering sustainable living, greener technology and the politics of international development.
This year there will be more workshops and hands-on technological creativity than ever, both for children and adults. Amongst dozens of options options, festival-goers will be invited to create a solar-panel from recycled materials, join the yurt-construction team, learn the fundamentals of Non-Violent Communication or try their hand at building a bicycle blender!

The festival also features an innovation award for ingenious sustainable solutions to poverty ÂÂ the PitchUp Award - which is being judged by TV presenter Jem Stansfield from the BBCs Bang Goes the Theory.
