Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has run every summer since 1947. Each year around 4,000 performers converge on Llangollen a small Welsh town to sing and dance in a unique combination of music, dance and international peace and friendship.

The 66th Eisteddfod will take place from Tuesday 3rd until Sunday 8th July 2012 at the Royal International Pavilion in Llangollen.

Line-up

Six days of music and folk dance from all over the world in one place! More than 4,000 competitors, from over 50 countries will take part.

Folk Friday
2 sessions from The Hennessys, Ioscaid, Emily Smith. As part of 'Folk Friday' there will also be performances throughout the day, on the main outdoor stage area and a gig at Llangollen station.

These include: Rum & Shrub Shantymen, Laura Connolly, David Oliver, Stewart Hardy, Tangerine Puppet, Sion Russell Jones, Calan, Adran D; and an open mic stage.

Away from the performance area there will also be several folk competitions during the day. These include a competition for choirs of up to 30 voices and a showcase for up to 50 performers which can include traditional music, singing and dance from of local or regional areas. There are also singing and musical competitions for smaller folk groups and individuals.

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.
