Music for Africa was founded by Tom Toomey in 1999 with the aim of raising money to put music into the lives of the children of Phokwane, South Africa. Funds raised through these annual concerts enable them to buy instruments, find, train and pay the wages of local music teachers and even help build new classrooms.

The concerts take place outside at Montacute House, Nr Yeovil, Somerset, with kind permission from the National Trust. This year's line-up is as follows:
Friday, 13th July - ROOTS, ROCK + REGGAE
Rock from Whole Lotta Led; roots from Barraka, and from Gambian Master Kora player - Pa Bobob Jobarteh; reggae from Planetman and the Internationalz; plus the Yeovil College Band.
Saturday, 14th July - BOOGIE, ROCK 'n' BLUES
Boogie woogie R'n'B from Ben Waters; rock from Jingo Santana; blues from The Black and Blues Band featuring Rob Koral and Zoe Schwarz; and opera from special guest, Andy Morton, plus the Yeovil College Band.

The event also offers a festival real ale beer tent; Desert Divas (belly dancers); bouncy castle; hog roast; raffle; and free parking; plus a range of traditional and ethnic food with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Gates open at 5pm with music from 6pm until 11.30pm.
