Music for Africa was founded by Tom Toomey in 1999 with the aim of raising money to put music into the lives of the children of Phokwane, South Africa. Funds raised through these annual concerts enable them to buy instruments, find, train and pay the wages of local music teachers and even help build new classrooms.

The concerts take place outside at Montacute House, Nr Yeovil, Somerset, with kind permission from the National Trust. This year's line-up is as follows:
Friday, 11th July - headlined by Sgt Peppers Only Dartboard Band. Zambula, Riverbrew, Gypsy Fire, and The Boys from Melbourne Street
Saturday, 12th July - headlined by the Rollin' Clones. RSVP, Planetman and the Internationalz, Bag of Rats, Flatland Boogie Band, and Desert Divas . There are a few more acts promised.

The event also offers a festival real ale beer tent; belly dancers; bouncy castle; hog roast; raffle; and free parking; plus a range of traditional and ethnic food with vegetarian and gluten-free options available. Gates open at 5pm with music from 6pm until 11.30pm.

Adults tickets are priced at £18 if bought in advance or £20 on the gate. Child (5 to 16 years) tickets cost £9, or £10.50 on the gate. Family day tickets (2 adults and up to 3 children) - £42 in advance; £52 on the gate. Kids under 7 years admitted free. To buy all ticket types, click here.
